A trip to Naples is an experience at every corner, a surprise at every glance and will leave you wanting to go back again. Naples holds the record for the largest UNESCO heritage historical center in Europe, countless monuments from different eras, streets and alleyways full of history and traditions, breathtaking views, a lively nightlife, excellent cuisine without equal in the world, and a style of theatrical life, unique and original. In Naples there is a lot to see in every area. The Veiled Christ, the elegant districts of Chiaia (by the sea) and Vomero (in the hills) with their bourgeois palaces, shopping streets, sea views and first class museums. The Phlegraean fields with their ongoing geological phenomena and ancient Greek and Roman remains; Capodimonte with its very important museum, the Sanità district with a popular atmosphere, traditions and folklore to touch at the fontanelle cemetery.
A jewel warmed by the sun, characterized by an unrivaled gastronomic tradition, by towns overlooking the sea and by a historical heritage of inestimable value. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a perfect example of a Mediterranean landscape with a scenario of great cultural and natural value, it is made up not only of internationally famous locations such as Amalfi and Positano, but also of small villages with an ancient atmosphere. The beaches of the Amalfi Coast are among the most beautiful in the Tyrrhenian Sea and in the world, although they are not very extensive due to the conformation of the coast, so impervious as to leave small (but wonderful) scraps of pebbles between the cliffs. Equally loved, the caves of the Amalfi Coast are also an indispensable attraction for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in natural caves full of charm.
The ancient city rediscovered. A unique heritage of history and culture in the world. It is a unique place in the world that offers an incomparable experience to the visitor. There are nine "Regio" areas to visit in this ancient city, divided between ancient streets and alleys, old amphitheaters and suggestive necropolises, but also villas, houses, temples and public and recreational buildings. This important archaeological site, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, is a step back in time, which offers an in-depth testimony of Roman history. The visit to the Archaeological area of Pompeii can be integrated with a visit to Boscoreale, Oplontis, Stabiae, Longola, Castello di Lettere, Villa Sora, Polverificio Borbonico and Reggia di Quisisana.
The Royal Palace of Caserta is a royal residence, historically belonging to the Bourbons of the Two Sicilies, located in Caserta. Commissioned by Charles of Bourbon, the laying of the first stone, which started the construction works, took place on 20 January 1752, based on a project by Luigi Vanvitelli: this was followed by his son Carlo and other architects. The palace was completed in 1845. Together with the Carolino aqueduct and the San Leucio belvedere, it was included by UNESCO in 1997 in the list of World Heritage Sites [2]. It also constitutes one of the Italian state museums, which, in 2016, was granted special autonomy by the Ministry of Culture.
For those who love the sea and relaxation, without renouncing cultural and social life, a trip to the splendid islands in the Gulf of Naples is a must: Procida, Ischia and Capri.
Procida, the smallest island of the Campania archipelago, has been chosen by great directors as the ideal backdrop for cinematic masterpieces. Of volcanic origin, it is connected by a thin bridge to the nearby island of Vivara.
Ischia, the largest island in Campania. The Aragonese castle, in Ischia Ponte, is the most visited monument on the entire island, it was built by the tyrant Hiero of Syracuse in 474 BC. Once you reach the top of the fortress, don't miss the Cathedral of the Assumption which saw the sumptuous wedding between Ferrante d'Avalos and Vittoria Colonna in 1509, with the crypt that houses the frescoes of the school of Giotto. Rich in wholesome and healthy springs, Ischia has numerous spas, appreciated all over the world.
Capri , a coveted summer residence since ancient times, and land of poets, writers and legendary characters. Everything is suggestive in Capri: from the spectacular gardens of Augustus in the 1930s, to the Certosa di San Giacomo, up to the marvelous flower-filled villas, including Villa Jovis, the famous residence of the emperor Tiberius, which dominates the entire Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi Coast , and the port of Marina Grande. For those who want a clear and clean sea, the famous Blue Grotto of Anacapri is an unmissable destination, as are the Faraglioni.
